In Part I of THE Place for Summer Fun, we mentioned Long Branch’s Independence Day celebration, known as OceanFest. We can’t say it enough, so we’ll start by saying it again: There’s no better proof that Long Branch is THE place for summer fun than this event!

OceanFest

OceanFest is the biggest seasonal event on the Jersey Shore—in fact, it’s the biggest Independence Day celebration anywhere in New Jersey, and it happens every July 4th right here in Long Branch!

An all-day, family-friendly festival, OceanFest brings together the most memorable sights, sounds, and sensations of the summer season. Not just a music or food festival, and much more than a craft sale or street fair, OceanFest combines the best parts of everyone’s favorite summertime memory and caps it all off with the most spectacular fireworks display you’ll see anywhere along the Jersey coast!

Long Branch’s Summer Concert Schedule

Long Branch’s Summer Concert Schedule is in full swing now, and it features everything from Big Band to Zydeco—and everything in between! You’re sure to find exactly the sounds you’re craving, from “Bands on the Beach” (Sundays, at West End Park at Brighton Avenue) to “Thursdays by the Sea” (at Pier Village) and “Tuesdays on Broadway” (at the Broadway Band Shell).

Family Fun Night at Pier Village

Sundays through August 25

These free, kid-friendly evenings (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM) continue every Sunday through August 25th. Enjoy an evening of summer fun for the whole family on Festival Plaza with bounce houses, slides, inflatable obstacle courses, plus the Pier Village Family Game Room, Boardwalk Fun N’ Games, a high-end arcade with a full-service redemption center. Fun games for all ages and skill levels. State-of-the-art virtual reality games, skeeball, various crane games, and more!

Pier Village Live Summer Music Concert Series

July 8-August 26

Every Monday on Festival Plaza from 7:00 – 8:30 PM you’ll be treated to the Jersey Shore’s Best Tribute Bands!

Summer Movie Series at Pier Village

July 10-August 28

A full schedule of Hollywood films returns to the Outdoor Cinema on Festival Plaza every Wednesday through Labor Day. Bring your favorite chair and blanket and relax on the grassy plaza under the stars. Movies begin at dusk.

Surf & Turf Seafood Festival

July 13 & 14

Bring your friends and family and enjoy a summer day at beautiful Monmouth Park Racetrack!

There will be live music on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, on Sunday enjoy FREE Family Fun Day featuring pony rides, face painting, a bounce house, and more!

There is something for everyone at the Surf & Turf Seafood Festival at Monmouth Park!

West End Cruise Night & Classic Car Show

August 17

Featuring the music of The Coasters and Shirley Alston Reeves, with Long Branch’s own Reanna Runge opening. Come on out to Brighton Avenue for a summer classic!

Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Festival

August 24

Fans of cool jazz and hot blues will definitely want to catch this event at the Long Branch Great Lawn and Promenade.

Sponsored by the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation and The City of Long Branch, entertainment will be provided by six different acts nonstop from 1:00 to 9:00 PM. There will be food and craft vendors throughout the day, with fireworks to cap it all off.
