The Best Part of Being at the Beach is Peace of Mind

The peace of mind that comes from being at the beach is unsurpassed. After all, Mother Nature is beautiful and awe-inspiring. She can also be capricious and sometimes downright intimidating. High winds and driving rain can be daunting as well as damaging. Which is why we’ve taken steps to give 365 Ocean residents the utmost confidence when Mother Nature is at her worst. How? By subjecting our windows and balcony doors to extreme conditions using rigorous industry standards defined by ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association). This type of on-site testing ensures that windows and doors installed in the field perform to the levels stated by the manufacturer.

Because what could be more important than knowing that your home, your family, and your belongings are protected?

The Process

Windows Testing - Interior Prep
Interior Prep

Testing begins by building an interior wood-framed chamber around the inside frame of the window. The interior side of the frame is completely covered with a heavy clear plastic sheet to create an airtight seal. A hole is then made in the veneer, and air is extracted from the chamber to create a negative air pressure between the interior and exterior of the window.

Windows Testing for Water Leakage
Water Testing

On the exterior side of the same window, water is sprayed directly at the window using a multi-nozzle spray device for 15 minutes in accordance with AAMA Standard 502 – Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products.

The windows are tested for both air and water leakage.

The Results

Air leakage around the frames, gaskets, and seals was checked and found to be within the prescribed test tolerances and manufacturer’s stated performance levels.

Water leakage around the frames, gaskets, and seals was checked. No visible signs of water were found on the inside face of the window and surrounding metal frame.

These tests were conducted by an AAMA-Accredited professional testing agency and verified on site by an independent waterproofing consultant. Because when it comes to our residents’ peace of mind, we don’t rest until we know it’s right.
